July 2, 2012

  • You may register on the out of work register in person anytime between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday.

  • All calls for manpower must be submitted by 4:30 p.m. so they can be put on the job line recorder that night.

  • All calls will be listed on the job line from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. unless a contractor calls for manpower after hours.

  • To be eligible for a job assignment call the job line between 5:00 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. Leave your name and phone number where you can be reached after 8:30 a.m.

  • At 8:30 a.m. the Union will start calling those who left their name for job assignments and will continue until all job assignments are filled.

  • You must be available to accept a job assignment starting at 8:30 a.m.

  • Job assignments will be offered to those who are lowest on the out of work register, and will continue in chronological order until all job assignments are filled.

  • The Business Manager is responsible to fill the job assignments needed by the employer in a timely manner.  This means emergency call and/or unfilled job assignment referrals may have to be made outside normal hours using whatever means are necessary.

  • Applicants for employment must re-register twice a year (January 10 - 16 and July 10 - 16) by mail, fax, email, website, or in person or will be removed from the out of work register.

  • Local Unions are to immediately initiate a policy requiring individuals who receive   2 discharges for cause within a 12 month period to be suspended from future referral privileges until they appear before the Appeals Committee for a determination as to their continued eligibility for referral.  Any individual who receives 2 discharges in a 12 month period or who wishes to contact the Appeals Committee must do so in writing by mail or personal delivery to the Union Hall.

  • There will no longer be a short call register.

  • All job assignments will be referred off the full time out of work register.

  • An applicant who is hired and who receives through no fault of his own, work of 40 hours or less shall, upon re-registration be restored to his appropriate place within his group.

  • When leaving your name and phone number on the job line for a call, only those phone numbers left on the job line will be called the next day for referrals. If the referral agent has to leave a message, a time limit of 15 minutes will be allotted before going to the next on the call-in list. If you do NOT return the call within those 15 minutes your place will be forfeited to the next on the call-in list.

  • Once an applicant qualifies for, requests and is granted Group I status in any local union, he shall retain that status in the local union and shall not be required to requalify unless he qualifies for, requests and is granted Group I status in another local union.  If that situation occurs, the applicant would have to requalify for Group I status in any previous local union(s) in which he enjoyed Group I status.
